Marshall Islands Ambassador: Maryland Halloween Group Never Reached Out
Well, this is an interesting development on my post from yesterday about the group here near D.C. that’s put together a zombie-themed haunted house based on nuclear experiments in the Marshall Islands.
The group claims in a disclaimer to have reached out to the Marshall Islands ambassador as part of its efforts to support the victims of the tragedy. The only problem? The ambassador, Charles Paul, said they never reached out and his efforts to contact them have been fruitless.
“I have reached out to the folks at Hallow Inc., given that they’ve been telling everyone who writes them that they have been seeking a meeting with me, but in truth, they have not reached out to my office,” Paul told me in an email late Wednesday. “So, I’m waiting for their response.”
I still haven’t heard back from the group’s director of operations, Joyce Roldan. I left two voicemails and sent an email this week.
One final note: There was one comment left on yesterday’s post from someone who’s launched a Facebook group and Change.org petition asking Hallow Inc. to be sensitive to the history and change the attraction’s name.
