Major Democratic Lobbying Firm Hosting Gabbard Fundraiser

Tulsi Gabbard is continuing to make powerful friends in Washington.

We told you previously about her week of meetings with Democratic leadership on the Hill and her big third-quarter fundraising haul with a helping hand from some of those soon-to-be-colleagues. Now, a major lobbying firm founded by President Bill Clinton’s final chief of staff is throwing a fundraiser for her.

That Clinton chief of staff is John Podesta, and the firm is called the Podesta Group, now run by John’s brother Tony. The $1,000- to $1,500-per-person event is scheduled for lunchtime Wednesday here in Washington at the Podesta offices on G Street about five blocks from the White House.

Read more details, and RSVP if you don’t have any lunch plans, here.

It’s not clear whether Gabbard will be there in person; an email to her campaign spokesman was not returned Tuesday. Most representatives and candidates are in their districts campaigning right now, but some races are less contested than others.
