Labor Dep’t Sending $12.7M to UH for Workforce Development

The University of Hawaii will receive $12.7 million from a Department of Labor grant for workforce development programs, technical training, educational opportunities, counseling and job placement programs on the neighbor islands, Hawaii’s congressional delegation announced today.

The grant comes from the Labor Department’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training program.

UH, according to the joint delegation press release, “will use the money to expand their education and training services by partnering with the local businesses, state and county government to provide students and residents with the education, training, and counseling needed to break into the Hawaii job market.”
