U.S. Transportation Dept Sending $975K To Maui

Two U.S. Department of Transportation grants will send nearly a million dollars to Maui for harbor improvements and elderly/disabled services.

The grants were announced in a press release from Sens. Daniel Inouye and Daniel Akaka and Rep. Mazie Hirono. The details:

  1. The first grant will provide $741,419 for improvements to Manele, Lahaina, and Kaunakakai Small Boat Harbors.
  2. The second grant will provide $233,129 for The One-Call/One-Click Project. The program will serve veterans, persons living with disabilities, the elderly, patients receiving dialysis treatment, youth, visitors, and residents living and visiting Maui County.
