Obama’s Last-Minute Shopping Trip

President Barack Obama may be stuck in rainy Washington while his wife and daughters enjoy at least some sunshine on Oahu, but that didn’t stop the commander in chief from doing a little Christmas shopping for them on Wednesday.

Obama stopped at a Virginia pet store to buy a large bone for first dog Bo. He also picked up a pair of $50 iTunes gift cards and other items including a Just Dance video game for his daughters at Best Buy. 

“The girls beat me every time on these dance games,” he said, according to pool reports. “But you’ll never get a picture of me (playing) because I get graded ‘F’ every time.”

The tally for his purchases at Best Buy: $194.48. Reporters noted that the president “dutifully ignored all efforts” to engage him in discussion on the payroll tax impasse.
